Memorial weekend 2019, I put the canopy up for the second time. In the middle of the night, we had a moderate rainstorm. Apparently the rain pooled on the roof, because the frame was broken and one leg was severely bent when I got up in the morning. The roof fabric was on tight. I would like to replace the frame, but apparently it is not possible to replace the frame. I don't think it is worth it to buy a new one, if this product cannot handle rain. Unknown on May 26th 2019
Have used this tent for 3 years on a deck facing Lake Huron as a screened room. It had to be 10x10 straight legged to fit between deck rails and house and it did! I needed shade but found out quickly that the canopy is not lined and with the screen sides zipped it is like an oven even on windy days. The top turned yellow within a couple of days. Once the shade from our one tree makes it to the deck it is comfortable. With screens open the breeze can blow through but then you have biting flies which was my main reason to purchase this tent. The velcro is incredible! A sudden high wind came up and lifted the tent right off the stakes and tie downs without even loosening the velcro tabs. We finally managed to pull it down and drop the front legs into the wind to take pressure off the top. The fabric is tough. I realize I have this tent in conditions it isn't meant to handle: high winds, but with extra straps to tie down it has withstood some incredible wind. Needs grommets to let water off. For a shade tent in the park or yard this would be a great addition. Unknown on Jun 23rd 2018
I must say, this canopy has been a wonderful addition to our weeklong camping trip along Lake Superior for the past 5 years. However, heavy or even moderate rain will pool along the center of the sides because it's not possible to get adequate tension on the fabric there. We've been able to cope with that in the past by just periodically dumping the water over the sides, but this summer, heavy rain at night caused the metal frame on one side to buckle in 2 places, so that the canopy partially collapsed. When we tried to bend it back into place, it cracked. One of the 4 main supports also will no longer lock into place. I'm disappointed to see that someone else had the same experience and couldn't get replacement parts. Especially because last year I invested in one of the shade walls. Bummer. Time to find something else. Unknown on Aug 20th 2017
The sunshade canopy seems to be well built, however mine did get caught in a storm and one of the scissor frame pieces broke. I wasn't surprised that it broke but I was surprised when I called Wenzel and they told me they do not make replacement/repair parts for their canopies. Therefore I have to either try to rig something to make it work or just trash it. Seems a shame because other than that the canopy is perfect. Randy Madison on Jul 20th 2016
I love my Wenzel easy up . I paid a little extra but it was well worth it .From the quality of the sewing to the smoothness of setting up the frame its a class act. Eric Taylor on Jun 12th 2016
Absolutely hands down has saved my butt several times but most recently this week camping -with the worst rainfall experience I have ever known in one night! And I grew up here! At first I thought the canopy was a goner as I just didn't make it in time to drop the legs and undo the surprisingly strong Velcro tabs...heard a crack as the shear weight of about two feet of collected rainwater overcame the frame. That is my only negative to this superb product. There needs to be two additional Velcro tabs to ensure the canvas stays taut. My opinion. Other than two slightly bent cross bars I hope to bend back, it's back in working order and yes, mine too has slightly yellowed but really? It's camping dude...get over it! Thank you Wenzel! I will def. be looking at your other products. Sarah. b on Mar 12th 2016
We used this canopy last week at the beach for 6 days. This is a very strong canopy. It stood up to wind. I have had canopys in the past, but the Wenzel is by far superior. The one issue I did have was, the white canopy turned "pee" yellow due to the sun on it for a week. I intend to contact Wenzel regarding this. Otherwise , I would have given it 5 stars.
