I have bought two of these chairs for fishing, and had the same problem on both, the seat grommets wear out after less than a year. Everything else is ok, and I am definitely below the weight limit of the chair. Ian McKinnon on Apr 22nd 2018
I've purchased several of these chairs. They're comfortable and the side table is really a nice addition. It's convenient to take anywhere as it folds easily and stored in a bag. Very well constructed. Allen Wenzel on Feb 15th 2018
I have been through 4 of these chairs now and I give up! The chair frame and canvas may hold up to the 450lb maximum claimed that but is meaningless when the grommets break.
Each of the four holes in the corners of the canvas seat have grommets that the chair frame goes through. (you can see in the picture) These grommets are made of plastic and they eventually split! Once they do, it does not matter how strong the frame and canvas are, the chair becomes unsafe and, therefore, unusable. I am not sure why they do not use metal grommets which, I assume, would hold up better.
My chairs were well taken care of, stored indoors and never left outside subjected to the elements, they were not used by anyone near the stated maximum weight capacity and this happened to every one of them! And all within less than 1 year of purchasing!
It is a shame because the chairs are functional and comfortable...
UNTIL the grommets break!
Additionally, just FYI, I am not sure why the description states "padded arms" as they are not padded. J on Dec 9th 2016
I loved the chair itself however the chair did not hold up to the weight limit. The grommets the chair arm supports pass through are ripping. The chairs are great otherwise. They started falling apart before 6 months of use. Oddly enough it's the same rm on both chairs. Crypsgirl on Oct 26th 2016
